That was a blood dripping list! Impressing movie collection too! I only have 150 DVD's, but since I'm only 15 and have been an active collector for only 4 years it's quite many, I guess.
I'm also very intrested in serial killers like John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy, Ed Kemper and Dennis Nilsen. I also like to watch Medical Detectives on Zone Reality. Really intresting and facinating how they can solve so difficult cases with so little evidence.

Given time, you'll start ammasing a bigger colection. i was the same, early on i just went for the main stream horror stuff. The kind you saw advertised on tv. It seemed this was the only horror. Im going back to the eightes and early nighties. Things were far different then. One day i went looking in to the horror genre and found it goes far deeper than most even realize.
Thats all they need. That and a keen eye. I nearly went to uni to do forensic science. Still could actually but seeing as im the stay home dad, looking after my kids seems to be more upfront than going off to uni. Even tho i'd like to go. Now theres another kid on the way, looks like my job prospects are gonna be put on hold for a while longer yet.

I'm actually glad that I'm Swedish when it comes to movies. It's easier to get different kind of movies here and the ratings are so low. I saw Cannibal Holocaust and Saló in an ordinary DVD store here. Both with a +15 rating (the highest we have). I also watch old movies like Psycho and movies from Europe and Asia. one week ago I bought Korean A Tale of Two Sisters for only 6 bucks. I think I'm gonna watch it tonight.
I think it's cool that you stay home with your kids. That's the most important thing, really, but when they get older you should go for it. My mum has been studying a lot and it has still worked fine since she always asked me and my brother first and made sure we was ok with it.

You'd never see Cann holocaust as a 15 here (uk). I waited and got the anniversary edition. pretty good too. I had an older version but it wasnt as good.
Tale of two sisters is a good little film. A mate of mine lent it me and i burned it to disc on my dvd player. Actually, if i remember, i think i may watch it tonight. Ohh, hang on, Goodfellas is on tv, i love goodfellas! Tommy cracks me up evey time! We'll see how i feel later.

I was pretty shocked to see it in a store here in Sweden since it's fairly unknown. But I won't watch it now or in the next two years at least since I don't think I could handle it.
Goodfellas is on my "Must get on DVD"-list but I haven't watched it yet. Gonna get the 2-disc special ed.

TBH...Cann holo...isnt as bad as people make out. The hype surrounding it makes things worse. I watched it the other night. The worst bits are pretty grim but i really dont think it would make you vom. A woman tied up and giving birth....then having her baby buried in the muddy banks of the river then being beaten to death by primative tools is probably the biggest "shock" factor but it only lasts a couple of minutes of so. The footage is 'blair witch' shakey at this part so you dont see much and the edit makes me think it isnt a real baby (as led to believe).
I much prefer Cannibal ferox and deep river savages than holocaust.
You need to get Goodfellas. If you like mafia style films, this is a must for your collection. It truly rivals the likes of The Godfather and Scarface. great film. De Niro, Pesci and Liotta are just great in it! Go buy NOW hehe!

I've read quite much about it and from that it seems pretty grim. But it really seems like the only thing it actually has is gore and that it was made for mere shock-effect. But as you say, it's probably because of the hype people find it so extreamly bad and horrifying. The title helps it too, I guess.
I really want to see Goodfellas and I think I'm gonna get it for christmas. It seems like a totally awsome, kick ass mafia film.
