In the small New England town of Dunwich, a priest commits suicide by hanging himself in the church cemetary which somehow opens the gates of hell allowing the dead to rise. Peter, a New York City reporter, teams up with a young psychic, named Mary, to travel to the town where they team up with another couple, psychiatrist Jerry and patient Sandra, to find a way to close the gates before All Saints Day or the dead all over the world will rise up and kill the living.

This is proably my favorite Fulci film. The opening with the priest hanging himself is really cool, along with the woman puking up her internal organs.

Fulci is a weirdo. His movies almost always suck the first time you see them. Then, they get a little better the more you watch them. Or, if you like them the first time, you'll dislike them the more you watch them. What you see the most about his movies is that some scenes work great. Other scenes are downright awful. Every one of the movies I've seen of his are like this. Some people call him a genius. That's garbage. He did some things well, but he was no genius. City of the Living Dead is an extremely creepy movie. If that's what you want to see. It's very gory. Very disturbing. But the story sucks, the acting isn't very good, and a lot of the make-up is awful. The zombies look like crap. And the whole thing with Bob is just insane. I Give it:
