This.....omg..where to start..Silent Hill was possibly the best horror to hit theaters since Jaws. As far as us video games junkies are concerned, anyway. The movie was just..freaking awsome. It wasn't ruined by bad acting or horrible lines, & the plot was delighfully intriguing. After seeing it, I've become obsessed with the whole video game series & I'm attempting to find the first one somewhere.(trying to avoid online shopping) Silent Hill is a great movie for lovers of ghost, demon & downright gory movies.

Oh my God I loved this movie SO friggin' much! I saw it in theatres and it is AWESOME!! I thought it should be rated R because of the gore! The plot, the acting the whole thing ROCKED! This is 100% better than any horror film I have ever seen since A Nightmare On Elm Street. Has it come out on DVD yet? HAS IT?!?!? I WANT IT!!

Well, finally saw it.
Fun movie overall, though I thought the ending was just plain lousy, if unexpected.
*SPOILER ALERT*
EDIT: THANK YOU, IMDB, THEY ARE NOT DEAD

Interesting theories, but I stick to my "they're dead" theory. Another place I read about said they all died in the fire, & nightmare or not, they couldn't survive in that world of ash. And...also...why did they not enter this realm untill after the crash? & why didn't the others enter the realm as well? That quote was too long & I have a short attention span, so if that was answered then I stand corrected.
One more thing, about the monsters. I was reading the back of the UMD case & it said "Hell's creations", so I would assume that the creatures were created by the Demon, not Alessa.

Though if the crash was CAUSED by the demon/Alessa...it's easily her way of "dragging them in" as I believe Cybill crashed rather randomly too...not quite an "OMG, DODGE THE KID!" situation like Sharon and Rose.

Oi, my brain hurts. But, I do think that the demon did cause the car crash in order to lure them in and create all that chaos. Demons thrive for torment/terror/chaos. So, that's probably what happened. Although if that's not what was meant to be thought, then I'm just brain dead at this point.

Zee monsters were created by the Demon, yes, but the Demon created them based on the fears of Alessea, just like how Silent Hill itself in the Video game created the monsters based on the fears of whatever character entered the town.
As for the quote earlier... I doubt that Pyramid Head was merely the Ringleader for the monsters. He seemed to represent either an incarnation of Alessas rage against the occultists, or on a more interesting note, A father figure of Alessa.
Since Alessa never had a father, Pyramid head could have combined her negative experiences with men with the hole in her life that is a father. In this context, Pyramid Head is both an abusive father, attempting to symbolically rape Rose with his Great Knife in Midwich Elementary, and a protective figure, when he kills Anna who had just been abusing Dahlia, Alessas mother.
Heh, I know some fans who have gone as far as to suggest that PH IS her father...
*spray paints Pyramid heads helmet black and hires James Earl Jones as his voice actor* Alessa... I AM your father! *breathing noises*
