I love the movie the Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon is on second place and Hannibal on third (same with the awsome books by Thomas Harris).
My fav character are: Jame Gumb (SotL), Mason Verger(Hannibal), Freddy Lounds (RD) and Francis Dolarhyde (RD). This is also based on the charachters in the books, I'm not that found of Mason in the movie.

IMO Hannibal was overmade, with slow motion and b/w sequenses (sp?) + too much gore. But i think that the book Hannibal is abit over the top too and the character development was so weird that i kinda disliked both Starling and Lecter in Hannibal. Mason Verger and his sister, Margot, was the best characters in the book and in the movie it was Paul Krendler since Ray Liotta did such a great job.

*shiver* It posts in the forum that it's in, or else it gets the ban again....*twitch*
Okay, jokes aside....I'm pretty much up there with the Silence-Dragon-Hannibal in terms of which I thought was best. I'd read the books first, and I thought the movies did them justice, well for the most part. The Hannibal movie was so heavily edited in terms of how it worked from the book that it just felt like another excuse to show Anthony Hopkins being creepy. He worked better as the "prison guy behind the scenes".

and lack of Jodie Foster didn't help either. I can understand wanting to show that the characters have aged, buuut..seriously. Changing the actor/actress for a main character does not work (unless the character is wearing a william shatner/hockek mask).
That was also the issue with Clarice's superiors. They rotated actors between all three movies for the same three people and it got a bit confusing after a while

Hmm..you guys should check out Hannibal Rising. It's the prequel to end all prequels. -sweatdrop- but its still very good. Though there were uneeded parts.

Own the book, saw the movie.
Both were okay...but I don't like how it turned Hannibal from that disturbed yet brilliant and unfathomable monster into your everyday coldhearted revenge-bent killer. Cheapened his character a bit too much.

I haven't watched the movie or read the book yet. To be fully honest I'm not sure if I'm willing to take the risk since Hannibal started to ruin it for me. All the things that made Hannibal Lecter creepy and outstanding, like his mysteriosness and almost un-human appearence, was taken away. I't was so over the top and cheap.

The movie itself was good. It had its moments. Though I don't get the chinese honor thing. Why was it added again? Haha

Hannibal Rising is the best Hannibal film In my opinion.

Silence of the Lambs is a masterpiece. You know how for some masterpieces, you know that you won't find the right words for it... Well, I got one word for Silence of the Lambs: Masterpiece. I Give it: - - - - - I haven't seen Manhunter, Red Dragon, or Hannibal Rising yet. But I did see Hannibal. And it was a really bad idea. Well-made in all the technical departments. But, bad story, and... why make a film with Clarice if you can't get Jodie Foster? I Give it:
