The way it was promoted..was crap. It seems like 98% of the focus was on Jessica Biel, 1% of it was on Leatherface, and 1% dwelt on the fact that it was a horror remake.

I adore the original, but I haven't watched the remake yet. But I don't think that it will be even close to the original movie. Aww… Edwin Neal as the Hitchhiker, soo creepy.*shivers* I also liked that Leatherface wasn't portraited as a monster, he wasn't mean on purpouse, he only fixed food and protected their home. The "music" is scary too.

Ok. I have to check it out and see how awful it is. BTW, I really hate all pathetic girls who post in threads like "Which movie made you cry?", and write: "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, OMG it was sooo sad and it happened in real life." It didn't.

Nope. It's said to be inspired by the life of Ed Gein (read about him here: www.crimelibrary.com/serial_killers/notorious/gein/bill_1.html) but Tobe Hooper said that he first heard of Ed Gein after the movie was released. But I think that it's really smart to say that it's based on a true story since people often find it scarier then.

But you know, they're misleading people that way if it isn't based on a true story.

Yes, but it's kinda scary that people belive in things like that. We are fooled so easily and I think that movies like this point that out.
