As previously mentioned, we should remember, Zombie isn't 'remaking' this film, he's making it his own way as if the film hadn't been written by Carpenter. Zombie claims to be using similar storylines but 'giving the horror fans' what they want. Halloween has been re-scripted by Zombie and he also does the screenplay.
Zombie Quote:
"I’ve been pretty opposed to most of these lame remakes of classic horror movies we’ve had to suffer lately. The Hills Have Eyes, The Hills Have Eyes 2, Wicker Man, When a Stranger Calls, and so on. They haven’t just been unnecessary, they’ve all been god-awful bad."
But what Zombie’s doing with Halloween may be exactly what the franchise, and maybe even the genre needs. He seems to be making all the right moves. Let’s see what happens.

Trivia:
Heather Bowen was a finalist for a walk-on role through a contest on the official "Halloween" Web site. She won overall through a lottery-style drawing by Moustapha Akkad at the Haddonfield 25 Fan Convention.
Oliver Stone was attached to this project before he decided to make World Trade Center (2006) and _Son of the Morning Star (2007)_ .
At one point Dimension Studios considered making a crossover film featuring Pinhead from the Hellraiser (1987) series, following in the footsteps of Newline Cinema's horror crossover Freddy vs. Jason (2003). A poll was held on the official site, but response from fans was negative and the studio dropped the concept.
The movie's production was delayed due to the death of Moustapha Akkad, the producer of all 8 previous movies. Akkad died of severe injuries as a result from the terrorist attacks at Jordan in 2005.
Before deciding to go with Rob Zombie's version, the studio was about to green light "Halloween: The Missing Years", which would have been a prequel, set within Michael Myers' early days at the Asylum.
This will be the third Halloween film that Danielle Harris has been in. She first appeared in Halloween 4 (1988) and Halloween 5 (1989) as Jamie Lloyd, daughter of Laurie Strode. Her character was recast in Halloween 6 (1995) in which the character was also killed off. She now returns to the franchise (a popular choice with many Halloween fans) for the third time now playing 17 year old Annie Brackett, even though she is nearly 30 years old.
One of the most complex scenes in the film was shot on Monday, February 26 2007, on the campus of Los Angeles City College. The day's shooting facilitated the use of 160 extras and about 100 crew people.
On 'Rob Zombie's' Official Halloween Myspace page, he announced that the films trailer will be shown with the double-featured film 'Grindhouse'.

Official New Myers:
The new Micheal Myres will look "Exactly The Same".
Zombie says they’ve finished making the mask that Tyler Mane will wear as Myers and insists: “It looks perfect. exactly like the original. Not since 1978 has the shape looked so good.”
Unfortunately, for me, it ruined Halloween's reputation for having so little language, sex & violence. THAT'S why I said what I did. THAT'S the only reason I like Halloween, was because it wasn't the typical slasher movie series that all featured nothing but gore and nudity.
In my oppinion it was a remake, whether Zombie says it was or not. Now some of them are good, I'll admit, but you just shouldn't screw with the classics. (like the new Creature from the Black Lagoon! WTF??)
I totally agree. i cant stand most, if not all of the remakes of late. 'Classics' of yester-year should be left alone period. Hollywood and the like will keep doing this and theres nothing we can do about it except stop watching them so's not to fatten their already fat wallets.
I actually liked both the original The Hills Have Eyes and the remake. But the remakes of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Psycho where both awful and I'm sure that the original House of wax must be kicking the remake's ass, it simply can't be worse.
Well, Psycho couldn't have been THAT bad because everything was exactly the same. XD I still prefer the original, of course. Ya' just can't beat Hitchcock.
I never saw the original House of Wax, just the Vincent Price one. :/ I forgot what the original was even called. XD
house of Wax was just god awful. Paris Hilton *spits*
Psycho remake sucked big time and theres no point in making a remake if its gonna be the same...thats just pointless. its just hollywood cashing in on a genre thats hot at the moment.
Texas chainsaw, wickerman, The ring and all other remakes are just not needed. They should remake films that need remaking and leave the decent films alone!

Hitchcock & Price: Kings of horror.
The Vincent Price one is the original.
The remake of Psycho was terrible! How can you even think of taking movie set in 1960 and place in the 90s without changing anything (except for some things like the peep-hole sequence and that they added colour, nudity and gore)? The dialogue that was in older movies was a lot more like stage acting, the characters and the dramaturgy were different. In the remake they made the characters more modern but still kept so much of the original dialogue that they didn't add up. As a modern movie Psycho just seems stiff, boring, weird and definetly not scary. To quote The Arrow on joblo.com -Arrow in the head: If it isn’t broken…f*ck off!

Rob Zombie is not a good filmmaker. The Devil's Rejects is completely overrated. Okay, the ending was great. 33 minutes. That's it. The movie was 2 hours long!
This Halloween remake truly isn't the worst remake. But it's a million miles away from being any good.
